MAIN revives an open discussion space for the Quebec startup ecosystem
Published December 5, 2024
The Quebec startup ecosystem is evolving, and it's more important than ever for its stakeholders to be able to exchange freely with each other, without intermediaries. MAIN will now administer the Slack space formerly supported by Québec Tech, an open forum that brings together over 3,000 community members.
Since its creation in 2019 by Bonjour Startup Montréal, this digital space has been a place of exchange for entrepreneurs, coaching professionals, mentors and experts and other ecosystem players, fostering knowledge sharing, collaboration and meaningful connections.
This transfer of responsibility is part of the evolution of Startup Montréal's mandate towards Québec Tech. MAIN had already taken over some of Québec Tech's ecosystem management responsibilities, including monthly information calls. It is therefore by mutual agreement and in a spirit of continuity that MAIN is taking over from Québec Tech for the administrative management of this collaborative space.
Key infrastructure for a dynamic ecosystem
By committing ourselves to preserving and enriching this open communications infrastructure, MAIN also wishes to contribute to its longevity and relevance. The aim is to make it even more useful and engaging for members, by facilitating exchanges and ensuring that the information circulating in this space is connected to the right resources.
"The Slack space is much more than just a communication tool. It's a fundamental part of the infrastructure of the Quebec startup ecosystem. Direct peer-to-peer communication and unexpected collisions are one of the most important factors in giving entrepreneurs the courage to take risks. This space offers a simple and effective way for everyone to share essential information, find the right fit and build strong ties," says Louis-Félix Binette, MAIN's General Manager.
What changes, what stays, and what you want to do with it
Starting today, MAIN will open a reflection on the use of this collaborative space with a participative and inclusive approach. We want to hear your needs and ideas so that we can continue to develop Slack in line with your expectations. Here are a few planned initiatives:
- A participatory survey: Thanks to the Polly tool in Slack, MAIN will be soliciting suggestions for the future space. Your ideas and projects will be essential in shaping a dynamic and useful community.
- Weekly resource sharing: Each week, we'll highlight relevant events, opportunities and tools.
- No specific visual identity: The identifier and logo have been updated to reflect this transition, while retaining Slack's accessibility and collaborative spirit.
If you have any questions or suggestions, you can also write to us at communications@mainqc.com.
Together, for an ever-stronger community
Our job is to build infrastructures that make our ecosystem more efficient and better connected. We're excited to help make this space a strategic lever for Quebec entrepreneurs and the groups and organizations that support and mobilize them.
We invite you to join the space, share your ideas and continue to build together an ecosystem where collaborations thrive.
