Organize an IP awareness event in Quebec with momentumPI

Intellectual property is a strategic asset for the innovative companies you support. To underscore the importance of IP, it is important to raise awareness among entrepreneurs so they can better understand how IP fits into a comprehensive business strategy.

To help you raise awareness among businesses in your network, we have established a financial support program—as part of momentumPI—to fund the organization of up to two intellectual property awareness events, for a total of $2,000.

We strongly encourage you to participate in our call for proposals so that we can reach as many entrepreneurs as possible and raise awareness about the importance of intellectual property for the growth of their businesses.

eligibility criteria

To ensure that these events reach the target audience of our momentumPI service, we will base our selection on four key criteria:

  1. Awareness-Raising: The event should help raise awareness of the importance of intellectual property in the development cycle of a young, innovative company.
  2. Distinction: This event is not intended to replace the online training courses offered to entrepreneurs by momentumPI. However, it can serve as a complement to those courses.
  3. Community Impact: The event must reach a significant number of entrepreneurs within the community (in the range of 20 to 100 entrepreneurs, depending on the region and event).
  4. Data Collection: The event will provide an opportunity to collect data on entrepreneurs who are aware of intellectual property issues as part of the mandate entrusted by ISDE (see the “Organizers’ Obligations” section).

Responsibilities of the Organizers

  1. Provide at least two (2) seats for the MAIN team or its momentumPI representatives at the event
  2. Provide an opportunity for the MAIN team or its momentumPI representatives to speak
  3. Recognition of Partnership: Organizers must list momentumPI as an official partner of the event and promote the training programs developed as part of momentumPI as resources to support entrepreneurs.
    • On-site during the event (verbal announcement and on-screen display)
    • In at least three digital communications across two different media channels (social media, newsletters, etc.)
  4. Post-event report for each event: Provide MAIN with the number of entrepreneurs in attendance, collect data on the entrepreneurs present (see template), a photo, and a report on momentumPI’s visibility in digital communications (statistics, screenshots, URLs, etc.).

Events must be held and billed by March 31, 2025.

momentumPI is an initiative designed to help business support organizations (accelerators, incubators, and others) provide innovative Canadian companies with access to professional intellectual property (IP) services.
