MAIN and Cain Announce a Partnership to Mobilize AIEs Under Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada’s (ISDE) Performance Measurement Framework

the Canadian network of accelerators and incubators, the Canadian Accelerator and Incubator Network (CAIN) has chosen MAIN as a partner to lead the mobilization of Quebec-based accelerators and business incubators (AIE) as part of the project Performance Measurement Framework for accelerators and Business Incubators (CMR of the AIE). In July, CAIN was awarded the contract to carry out the federal data project, which the organization will also lead in collaboration with the consultant Chris Diaper.

Recognized for its ability to mobilize and its expertise in data collection and analysis, MAIN will reach out to the AIEs in its network to inform them about the framework and support them in their participation. In particular, the performance measurement framework helps better guide investments and the creation of new initiatives that promote the success of the startup development chain.

“All of our surveys demonstrate the profound impact that support has on startups. We are confident that increased participation by Quebec’s startup support organizations in a Canada-wide measurement framework will showcase the strength and vitality of the individuals who support our startup entrepreneurs on a daily basis. And what an honor it is to be able to carry out this project with CAIN, an inclusive network that shares our values of collaboration and sharing.”
— Louis-Félix Binette, CEO of MAIN

“Collaboration is key to a project of this magnitude, and we are delighted to be able to count on the expertise of MAIN. Joining forces will allow us to have a greater reach and thus facilitate data collection on a larger scale to gain a representative, Canada-wide view of the startup ecosystem. This effort will add significant value by informing policies and investment strategies and by measuring the impact of our country’s innovation economy so that we can improve together.”
— Stacey Wallin, Executive Director of CAIN
