Every year, MAIN publishes its activity report. For 2022–2023, the organization experienced another year brimming with projects that shaped the Quebec support ecosystem!
A few highlights:
PARTNERSHIP WITH THE Québec RESEARCH FUNDS
This year, MAIN and the Québec Research Funds (FRQ) have joined forces to create a research-society space focused on innovative and scientific entrepreneurship. this space dedicated to bringing together researchers in entrepreneurship and those involved in providing support, designated PERSÉIS, will be managed jointly by MAIN and the FRQs through 2028. Its goal is to facilitate progress in entrepreneurial practices, based on the concerns and needs of the Quebec ecosystem.
RAISING THE PI
MAIN has been working since the fall of 2022 to implement the key initiatives in the area of intellectual property that will be supported by this funding. All of the initiatives are expected to be up and running during the second quarter of 2023–2024.
MOMENTUM
Over the past year, the Momentum Service continued to implement the initiative with a view to continuous improvement.
In March 2023, Momentum had its agreement with the Ministry of Economy, Innovation, and Energy (MEIE) extended by six months to continue its efforts to support the growth of innovative companies.
This extension will make it possible to enhance the support programs for about 50 companies already enrolled in the Momentum support service, to enroll approximately 50 more companies in the service, and to ensure continuity of service for these companies.
CONTINUUM STARTUP
This year, the Continuum team startup has rolled out, in an iterative manner, an initial version of tools for testing each of its phases (screening, diagnosis, referral, and follow-up). The implementation of these tools also makes it possible to coordinate the efforts of the various stakeholders and align their actions to increase their impact.
PUBLICATION OF A BAROMETER REPORT STARTUP TALENT
published in July 2022, the barometer startup talent aimed to assess the impact of the MAIN labor shortage on the startups and potential solutions that would enable support organizations to better assist the startups in this reality.
