How to Achieve Your Personal Sommet and Improve Your Work Performance

Ours brun couché, la tête posée sur ses pattes

As the cold sets in, it’s tempting to want to hibernate, snuggled up in our soft clothes, comfortably settled in the “metaphorical caves” that serve as our home offices. If you’re feeling like a bear, you’re not alone.

We get it. But you know what? Your brain is playing tricks on youand theSommet of accelerators in February 2024 might be the one thing your life is missing toincrease your level of happiness andimprove your performanceAt work. It's not just us saying it—science says so!

In fact, as is often said, ad nauseam Dr. Laurie Santos inhis course on the science of well-being(Yale University’s most popular course, by the way), our intuition telling us that we would bemuch better alone in our cozy little cocoon isn't the right one.

Study after study has repeatedly shown that what brings us the most happiness are the human connections (especially if you're an introvert by nature!).

Whether it’s deep connections or small interactions with friends, family, or strangers, happiness is within our reach if we’re willing to step out of our “caves.”

and who can afford it in this world VICA (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) to turn away from happiness?

But look how well life works out; the MAIN team is working on planning the 5th edition of the Sommet of accelerators which will take place on the 14th, 15th, and February 16, 2024 (and for which tickets are selling out fast)like little ponchos, someone whispers in my ear). Such a golden opportunity for booster your happiness and a life filled with meaningful connections !

Stepping outside your usual environment helps generate new ideas

Furthermore, studies in neuroscience have shown that meetings in different places or at unusual timesstimulate the brain in a unique way. These encounters open up new avenues of thought by exposing the mind to unprecedented sensory experiences. A change of setting or context stimulates neural connections, thereby promoting divergent thinking andgenerating original ideas. By breaking the routine, we encourage the brain to explore new connections and see things from a different perspective, which fuels the creative process.

Who doesn't want to be more creative, inspired, and help their brain be even sharper? P-E-R-S-O-N.

Building connections creates stronger communities

Speaking of being more alert, science also tells us that spending time in “neutral places”—places other than our home or workplace—helps usto live and share different experiences. This leads to the development of meaningful social relationships and the building of stronger communities. Third places also serve as catalysts for encourage cooperation, collaboration, and engagement.

In this era of unchecked globalization, Quebec’s economy has everything to gain if its support ecosystem works together to create the best possible environment and, in doing so, foster the emergence of as many innovative startups as possible.

Let's be honest: the Manoir du Lac Delage, where the Sommet of accelerators will certainly be a wonderful third place to strengthen our community.
