Free training, partnership with CIPO and direct assistance in protecting IP assets

MomentumPI continues to operate at full capacity, with only 18 months of operation officially remaining.

In the area of intellectual property training and awareness, we have launched the first training module entitled "IP Fundamentals ".IP FundamentalsFundamentals", available online and free of charge to our Quebec entrepreneurs. Since its launch, nearly fifty entrepreneurs have taken the module.

Promising new partnership

To further support our IP entrepreneurs, we recently signed a collaboration agreement with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO). Among other things, this agreement will enable us to offer entrepreneurs hours of consultation with Nicolas Déziel, an intellectual property advisor.

These office hours can be booked on our training platform. Entrepreneurs will be able to ask questions about the momentumPI service, and validate which course is best suited to their company's needs in terms of taking action to protect its IP assets.

In addition, we continue our weekly information sessionsStarting in mid-October, we'll be offering a new format, including CIPO training on IP issues.

In all, since the momentumPI service was rolled out, 248 companies have completed or are in the process of completing phases 2 and 3 of the process - i.e., strategy creation and strategy implementation, respectively. It should be noted that each of the companies selected to implement an IP strategy undergoes an assessment by a committee of experts to verify that the IP actions are strategic for the company.

Coming up in the next few months

On the training and awareness front, we will be launching a second module, developed in partnership with ROBIC, to offer more advanced training on intellectual property strategies and their impact on business growth.

In terms of creating and implementing the IP strategy, the priority remains to make the service available to as many innovative companies as possible, as there are only 18 months left before the end of momentumPI.
