All applications undergo an evaluation process to ensure that the service is provided to businesses that meet the criteria and whose needs are well aligned with the program’s objectives.

To be eligible, your company must, among other things, hold a valid NEQ, have its headquarters at Québec, have fewer than 500 employees, and comply with the rules regarding funding history under this service.

If your application is eligible, our team will conduct a more in-depth analysis of your project, examining the strength of your business model, the innovative nature of your solution, your growth potential, your level of IP maturity, and your IP needs. This assessment will determine whether your company is eligible for the service and which track you will be directed toward.

Once the evaluation process is complete, you will receive an official response via email. If your application is accepted, this email will outline the next steps to confirm your participation and begin working with the intellectual property firm of your choice.

Based on the results of the assessment and your intellectual property needs, you will be directed toward one of two paths: Developing an IP Strategy, for companies that want to develop one, or Implementation of an IP Strategy, for those who already have them.

You will need to obtain three quotes from firms specializing in intellectual property. You can then choose the firm with which you wish to implement your IP strategy.

You will first need to submit your IP strategy so that it can be evaluated by our advisors and experts. If it is deemed compliant, you will be asked to provide a quote from the IP firm and a form presenting your case to the Evaluation Committee (CoDev), which will analyze the project’s viability and determine whether financial assistance will be granted.

Yes. Your strategy should have been developed with the guidance of an intellectual property expert to ensure that it is based on a thorough analysis and tailored to your business.

Your strategy must demonstrate that the key analytical steps have been completed: a review of your company, its processes, and its intellectual property assets; the identification of IP assets that are strategic to your growth; and recommendations to guide your value creation strategy.

Yes. A compliant strategy must be based on analyses that take your business context into account: analysis of competitors and their IP assets, in-depth analysis of your own assets, market trends and innovations in your industry, needs for new IP or partnerships, identification of potential partners, and FFOM analysis related to your intellectual property.

Yes. It should conclude with clear recommendations on how to implement your intellectual property strategy, in order to demonstrate how it will concretely support your company's objectives.
