ACCEPTANCE AND APPLICATION

Mouvement des accélérateurs d'innovation du Québec (" MAIN " or "we" or "us" or "our") provides you with this privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") to inform you ("User" or "Users" or "you") of our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use, retention and disclosure of personal data and information that we receive from Users who make use of the MAIN website (the "Site"), its products and services (the products and services hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Services"). This Privacy Policy applies to anyone using the Services.

We reserve the right at any time, in our sole discretion and without liability, to update or modify the Privacy Policy without notice, and your continued access or use of the Services or our Site will mean that you accept the updated or modified Privacy Policy. If we change it, we will update the "Last Updated Date" at the top of the Privacy Policy. Your continued access to the Site or use of the Services indicates that you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy. If the revised Privacy Policy is not acceptable to you, please do not use the Site or Services. Be sure to check this page periodically for the most current version of the Privacy Policy.

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

In this Privacy Policy, the term "Personal Information" refers to any information that relates to a natural person and allows, directly or indirectly, that person to be identified.
We collect the information you provide to us, for example, when you :

  • use our Services;
  • browse our Site;
  • submit a comment or question via our Site by any means of communication, or
  • on our social network accounts;
    consent to receive marketing communications by any means of communication;
  • answer a survey, a poll or participate in a contest on our Site or our social network accounts;
  • to obtain on-demand services;
  • send us any document containing Personal Information;
  • apply for a job at MAIN;
  • contact our customer support team or get in touch with us.

On each of these occasions, you may provide, but are not limited to, the following Personal Information:

  • your name;
  • your date and place of birth
  • contact information such as your e-mail address, address and telephone number;
  • financial or banking information such as your transit number, cheque specimen, or any other banking or financial information;
  • your social insurance number;
  • any information about your professional or personal situation, including a biography;
  • any information relating to your use of our Site, including browser cookies, your IP address, your preferences and your interests;
  • any document enabling us to verify your identity; and
  • any other Personal Information you choose to provide.

When you consent with third parties, we may obtain Personal Information about you through them, for example when you register with such a party to participate in one of that party's services, which are offered via that party's website or mobile application or through our Services. We may automatically import some of the Personal Information you provide to such third party into your account to use our Services when you consent to this.

COLLECTION PURPOSES

We collect your Information in particular:

  • To provide, maintain, execute and improve the Services;
  • For research and development and statistical purposes, in particular to improve the user experience and understand your needs;
  • To perform internal operations, including, for example, to prevent fraud and abuse of our Services to resolve software and operational problems, to perform data analysis, testing and research and to monitor and analyze usage and activity trends ;
  • To send you our newsletter or any other communication that may be of interest to you, including information on products, Services, promotions and news;

We expressly acknowledge that we will not use your Personal Information for any other purpose without your consent. Furthermore, we will only collect Personal Information to the extent necessary for the purposes described above.

In addition, Personal Information may be used and disclosed as MAIN may deem reasonably necessary to enforce the terms of any agreement between you and MAIN, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person or entity, or as required by law, in particular, in response to a request by the appropriate governmental authorities.

SHARING INFORMATION

We do not sell, rent or disclose the information we collect and store to third parties. You can expect us to share the information we collect with other parties in the following ways:

  • Service Providers: We have agreements with various service providers to facilitate the provision of our Services, under which we may share the Personal Information we have collected. All administrative service providers we use are required to have the same level of protection for Personal Information as we do. Accordingly, we expect your Personal Information to be treated with the same degree of care that we employ.
  • Statistical Analysis: We may share Personal Information and non-personal information that has been aggregated anonymously with third parties, including, but not limited to, for statistical, machine learning, advertising or marketing purposes. Non-anonymized Personal Information will not be shared in this manner.
  • Transactions: Transactions occur as part of or during the negotiation of a merger, the sale of company assets, any financing or acquisition, or in any other situation in which Personal Information may be disclosed or transferred as one of our business assets. However, under no circumstances will these transactions allow your Personal Information to be used for purposes other than those for which you have given us your consent.

RIGHT TO EXAMINE INFORMATION

In accordance with applicable privacy laws, you have the following rights with respect to your Personal Information:

  • Right of access: You may ask whether we hold Personal Information about you and, if so, request a copy. A fee may be charged for the transcription, reproduction or transmission of this information.
  • Right of rectification: If Personal Information concerning you is inaccurate, incomplete or equivocal, or if its collection, communication or retention is not in compliance with or authorized by the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, RLRQ, c. P-39,1 (the "Act"), you may request that it be rectified.

WITHDRAWAL OF CONSENT

You may at any time withdraw your consent to the retention of your Personal Information by sending a written request to requetes-ti@mainqc.com. Upon receipt of notice of revocation of your consent, we will stop storing your Personal Information within a reasonable period of time, which will vary depending on what Personal Information we have collected and for what purpose we have collected it. Please note that we will send you a confirmation e-mail upon receipt of your request. Please note that if you choose to withdraw your consent, your experience using the Services and browsing our Site may no longer be optimal and you may no longer have access to all of our Services and our Site.

PROMOTIONAL COMMUNICATIONS

You may choose not to receive promotional messages from us by following the instructions at the bottom of such messages. If you unsubscribe, we may still send you non-promotional communications, such as those regarding the Services you have requested or our ongoing business relationship.

COMPLAINT

You can make a complaint about the collection, use, destruction, retention or protection of your Personal Information at requetes-ti@mainqc.com. Please note that we will respond to your complaint within 7 business days.

SAFETY

Security measures have been put in place with respect to the Services to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the Personal Information under our control. Please note, however, that no data security measure can be guaranteed to be totally effective. Consequently, we cannot certify or guarantee the security of Personal Information or other information. You transmit Personal Information to us at your own risk.

EMPLOYEES, AGENTS AND SELF-EMPLOYED

MAIN employs other companies and/or individuals to perform functions on its behalf. For example, we may appoint third parties to develop software applications and/or database functions or to send communications on our behalf. Your Personal Information may be communicated to these persons in the course of MAIN's business operations. All employees, agents, affiliates of MAIN and self-employed contractors working for MAIN who have access to your Personal Information are required to protect such information in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy. Your Personal Information will be shared with them only to the extent that such sharing is necessary for the performance of their duties.

EXTERNAL LINKS

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites you may click on while using our Services or browsing our Site and encourage you to read their privacy policies.

SHELF LIFE

We will retain Personal Information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or to comply with any legal or regulatory obligations. Once this period has expired, we may anonymize your Personal Information to the extent permitted by law.

CONSERVATION SITES AND INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER

In particular, your Personal Information is stored via a cloud service whose servers are located in the United States, where privacy laws may not guarantee protection similar or adequate to that in your jurisdiction. By agreeing to this Privacy Policy, you consent to the transfer and storage of your Personal Information in the United States.

In addition, your Personal Information may be transferred to and stored on other servers located outside your jurisdiction, where privacy laws may not provide similar or adequate protection as in your jurisdiction. By agreeing to this Privacy Policy, you consent to any such transfer.

ELIGIBILITY

The Services are not intended for persons under the age of 18. If MAIN becomes aware that Personal Information about persons under the age of 18 has been inadvertently collected, it will promptly delete such Personal Information.
