every year, main publishes its activity report. For 2022-2023, the organization has enjoyed another year of structuring projects for the Quebec support ecosystem!
some highlights :
PARTNERSHIP WITH THE QUEBEC RESEARCH FUND
this year, main and the fonds de recherche du québec (FRQ) joined forces to create a research-society space for innovative and scientific entrepreneurship. this space dedicated to bringing together entrepreneurship researchers and support players, called PERSÉIS, will be co-managed between main and the FRQ until 2028. Its aim is to make advances in entrepreneurial practices possible, based on the concerns and needs of the Quebec ecosystem.
RAISE IP
main has been working since autumn 2022 to put in place the structuring intellectual property initiatives that will be supported by this funding. It is expected that all initiatives will be in operation during the second quarter of 2023-2024.
MOMENTUM
over the past year, the momentum department has continued its operationalization with a view to continuous improvement.
In March 2023, momentum extended its agreement with the Ministère de l'économie, de l'innovation et de l'énergie (MEIE) by six months, in order to maintain its activities in support ofacceleration innovative companies.
This extension will enable us to enhance the careers of some fifty companies already admitted to the momentum support service, to admit around fifty more to the service, and to ensure continuity of service for these companies.
STARTUP CONTINUUM
this year, the continuum startup team deployed, in iterative mode, a first version of tools to test each of its phases(detection, diagnosis, referral and follow-up). the deployment of these tools also helps coordinate the efforts of the various stakeholders and harmonize actions to increase their impact.
PUBLICATION OF A STARTUP TALENT BAROMETER REPORT
published in July 2022, the startup talent barometer aimed to take stock of the consequences of the shortage of main-d'œuvre on startups and the possible solutions that would enable support organizations to better accompany startups in this reality.
